Montgomery, AL was the birthplace and home turf of many music icons that became cornerstones of 20th-century American music. Artists like Nat King Cole, Hank Williams Sr, Big Mamma Thornton, Wilson Pickett and Clarence Carter got their start here and went on to pave roads for generations of American artists throughout all genres of popular music. Join us for riveting performances by artists who have embraced these roots while making relevant innovations of their own in the creative and revolutionary spirit of our musical ancestors.
In addition to the famous musical and literary artists hailing from Montgomery, the visual arts have always been a vibrant part of the cultural fabric of our community, and they remain so today. We’ve invited some of the best artists in our area to showcase their works to give you a unique perspective on modern life in “Alabama The Beautiful” as our state is so aptly named. We hope these sights, mixed with the sounds of the music will leave you informed, inspired and hungry for more.
Red Bluff Festival is a celebration of and for the senses, so get ready for smells and tastes that give our sights and sounds a run for their money. Montgomery sits at a geographic crossroads in the Southeast and thus became a cultural crossroads producing vital and revolutionary music, art and cuisine. The ripples from our local culture formed waves that impacted and influenced the entire world. This cultural melting pot soaked up the best of each culture that crossed through town, be it the vibrant offerings of New Orleans, or the stark and rugged contributions of Apalachia, all of these cultures passed through town, left their mark and helped contribute to a “local stew” that continues to boil over today. Enjoy unique southern cuisine prepared by some of our area’s best chefs and culinary creatives.
