High red bluff

This spot, located in a deep bend of the Alabama River, has been an active community hub for centuries by every group of people to inhabit this land, from the Native Americans known as the Alibamu Creeks up to the present day. “The Bluff” has seen its share of epic events and changes throughout the centuries, both hopeful and tragic, and as steady and as unrelenting as the mighty river which flows below it. Today, High Red Bluff is a celebratory gathering place for local neighbors from around town and a welcoming center for tourists from around the globe.

In 2022, Vintage Hospitality Group partnered with The City of Montgomery, AL to establish the music venue Red Bluff Bar at The Silos. Since that time, we are grateful to see it becoming an equitable, celebratory and restorative common space for all. The bar is housed at the base of historic grain silos built in 1916, and offering food, drinks, live music and games across Montgomery’s beautiful and historic Riverfront Park six nights a week, Spring-Fall. The nightly Red Bluff Concert Calendar features music from artists inspired by our Indigenous regional music legacy of Blues, Jazz, Country, Gospel, Bluegrass, R&B, Folk & Southern Soul. The bar’s slogan, “This Bluff’s For You,” is a mission statement and an invitation to the community to come enjoy, celebrate and showcase our beautiful city and culture together as one.

During Red Bluff Bar’s second year in business in 2023, Red Bluff Music & Arts festival was launched as a way to celebrate with our neighbors and showcase our city’s historic and vibrant modern culture to the world. The festival is the bar’s biggest weekend of the year where the small neighborhood music venue expands across Riverfront Park and uses the 6,000 seat Riverwalk Amphitheater. The festival is a showcase of the best and brightest local and regional artists, as well as a performance space for visiting guest artists inspired by our region’s soulful Southern sound. The Sacred Steel innovator Robert Randolph was our premier headlining guest artist in 2023 and was joined by a slew of local favorites, making our inaugural event a spectacular experience and foreshadowing very cool things to come.

2nd annual Fest

We returned bigger and better in 2024 with the addition of Food as the third tier of our Music & Arts festival, and we added two days and two stages. We showcased many local artists on the stage at Red Bluff Bar and a stage at the vintage terraced amphitheater next to Montgomery’s Harriott II Riverboat. Some of the brightest talents from our region were on display as well as Eric Gales, The Jerry Douglas Band, West Love and The Happy Ghosts featuring Kebbi Williams, CC Sunchild, Julie Dexter, & Devon Gates. We were joined by many new corporate and civic partners, including The City of Montgomery, and our vendors, visual artists and chefs gave the musicians a run for their money. We created a very special weekend and got a glimpse of the potential of a multiday-multistage concept on Montgomery’s Riverfront.
